Hi, I'm Mary Lynne. After having my second child in 2000, I decided to leave behind my corporate job, and pursue my dream of having my own business. Professional photography seemed like the perfect fit for me. Well, except for the fact that I had no clue how to use a camera! Details.... We were still using film back then, and there weren't a whole lot of resources available to learn photography. I dug around a bit, and finally found a correspondence course that promised to teach me the basics. Every day I found myself driving to the camera store to drop off or pick up a roll of film, excited to see how my skills were progressing.

I opened my business, immediately switched to digital photography, and fumbled through many of those first photo sessions, learning a little more with each one, until I finally "got it," and started creating the beautiful, consistent images I'd hoped for. My work has since appeared in Professional Photographer magazine, PPA's Loan Collection books, The Photoshop WOW! Book, and Woman's Day magazine. I've also written a book, Don't Say "Cheese!" - How to Create Natural-Looking Studio Portraits of Babies and Children, which you can find on Amazon in the Kindle store.

Within a few years of starting my business, DSLR cameras became affordable for consumers (not just for professional photographers anymore), and my clients started asking me if I could help them learn how to use their new fancy cameras. Well, it is one thing to understand how to use a camera, but another thing entirely to try to teach someone else how to use one. Once I figured out how to share my knowledge with others, I realized that I love teaching photography, and decided to grow my business in that direction.

Teaching is now the primary focus of my business, and I find great satisfaction in helping someone achieve that "aha" moment when they learn how to accomplish something new with their camera. I'd love to have the opportunity to help you as well.
